Poll Results

I closed the Poll about sleeping. The question was: How many times you wake up during your night's sleep?

Thirty Five votes so far...and the RESULTS:

  • 22% answered that they don't get up during their sleep at all..Wow, I wish that I was one of them but I'm not...that's really very good if you sleep straight between 7-8 hours! Maybe being able to sleep straight is genetic. Some people are heavy sleepers and when it's time for bed they forget about everything else...So if you are one of those, lucky you. Others can easily clear their minds by doing meditation everyday or have some kind of exercise to help them sleep deeply. If you're one of those, you probably wouldn't get up even if a plane flew a few meters over your roof.

  • 28% say they get up only one time..not bad at all. Maybe they get up for an urgent need to go to the bathroom, have a sip of water, check on their pet, turn off the TV, or maybe because the fighting neighbors disrupted their sleep. It could also be because a plane just flew a few meters over their roof and woke them up.

  • 28% said they get up two times...hmmm...I smell a little problem here. Maybe your are tired and you cannot sleep, you are overwhelmed by the load of work that you have everyday and it reflects on you negatively, maybe too much coffee during the day, or may be it is just painful heartburn from a heavy meal you had a couple of hours before bed...or maybe a plane is flying round trip over your roof so it wakes you twice.

  • 8% suffered from waking up three times during their night's sleep...here we have a problem. Possibly you're the type that moves all day long with a coffee machine at your side, maybe you have some health problems causing the constant interruption of sleep..or maybe the plane is flying round trip and has a layover on your roof.

  • 11% suffer from insomnia -- that's when you wake up more than three times a night...I guess those people might have bedroom window that's just a few feet from an airport runway.

Sleeping well at night is very important. A lot of studies prove this and even say that your resistance to illness is boosted by a good night's sleep.

For parents with newborn babies (including myself), it's obvious that you wake up more than once in the middle of the night. The question of 'Why' should be directed to your kids.

Do not forget to check the new poll on the right side bar.
